What got you into Vpop? - Wasn't really into it much, but heard some music a while back and decided to look into it some.
Who's your favorite Vpop artists? - Don't have one yet, maybe I will find one while hanging out here. :)
What are your other interests and hobbies? - Other than what I posted above. I like to go swimming, gaming with friends, hanging with family & friends, and so much more.

The lotus flower is associated with the image of Ho Chi Minh and is a symbol of the Vietnamese people! Have you ever seen the lotus lagoon directly? Lotus bloom in May - September!

Chào mọi người! I am a Vietnamese American.

I got into Vpop after randomly finding Vpop songs on YouTube. I remember some of the first songs I heard were Noi Nay Co Anh, Yeu 5, and Yeu Mot Nguoi Co Le. I haven't been into Vpop for a long time. I only found out about it about 2-3 years ago.

My favorite Vietnamese artists/bands are MIN, Hoang Thuy Linh, Vu, AMEE, Bich Phuong, TIA, The Flob, Orange, Da Lab, and Chillies.

My hobbies include gaming, gardening, and language learning.

I am passionate about Vietnamese history and culture pre-Vietnam war. I do not like that that many people (including overseas Vietnamese) associate Vietnam with just the Vietnam war. 😖 Vietnam has a long rich and interesting history! The Vietnam war is not the one thing that defines the whole country.

If anyone wants to share my ❤️ for Vietnam (history, culture, pop culture, etc) and or play games, hit me up! 🤗

@midu Welcome to the vpopwire fam! Can you write Vietnamese with diacritics? I don't meet many Vietnamese Americans who can do that.

I think I got into vpop because of Yeu 5 from Rhymastic too. One of my friends played it for me and I kept listening to it over again.

Yeah, I also don't like overseas Vietnamese who keep talking about Vietnam 40 years ago. It's changed so much. Every year I go there, it looks different. What games you play?

@thanggalang Thank you for the welcome! I can write Vietnamese with diacritics. Just mostly on the phone though because it's kind of a pain to do it on the computer 😶 I have also noticed that many Vietnamese Americans write without diacritics also. Some Vietnamese from Vietnam do it now too!

I wonder how many people got into Vpop because of Yeu 5, haha. It's a great song.

I've just been playing ACNH on the switch and Minecraft lately. Other games I have played before are Overwatch, Apex Legends, Rainbow 6, GTA5, ... I have a whole library of games on Steam. How about you?

@midu oh cute games haha. My little cousins are hooked on minecraft.

That's impressive. I tried to learn how to write with diacritics but it's like typing in a whole new language. So frustrating.

@thanggalang I don't know what advice I can give you 😳 I just learned the alphabet throughly then went through all the tones and their diacritics. I practice by reading Vietnamese out loud often. Are you able to read Vietnamese? Sometimes it is hard for me to read Vietnamese if there are no diacritics. I saw a non-Vietnamese person trying to learn Vietnamese say that if Vietnam still used the writing system chữ nôm instead of chữ quốc ngũ, they believed it would have been easier to learn for them since chữ quốc ngũ has so many diacritic combos to keep track of. I'm not sure if I agree though unless chữ nôm was simplified and standardized.

I used to play CSGO also, it's been yeeeears though. Thanks for the suggestion 😊

I'm a fan of all the artists you've listed except for The Flob (never heard of before).

My brother plays ACNH on the Nintendo DS but I do'nt have one. I just bought the Oculus Quest 2 though, today will be my first time trying VR games. I hope I don't break anything haha
