Just my personal opinion but I think it does. Lack of continuity, lack of promotions, lack of creativety and unprofessional behaviours from artists are creating scandals and audience lack of faith in Vpop. There needs to be a overhaul of reforms in Vpop or the entertainment industry in general. Now I'm no fan of the communist govt but in this case I think they should introduce some reforms help develope vietnamese music. Just like the korean govt is sponsoring the Hallyu wave, I think Vietnam can do the same.

I agree that they can assign some organizations to support the industry financially. Vpop is a great way to draw foreigners into Vietnam's culture and get them traveling to Vietnam and spend money in the country.

They are doing what they see working in other countries but the issue with this is that the things they are focusing on are the very reasons why people like me turn to alternative music in other countries.

They do need to change things up. It seems like they are so close to expanding in all the right places but too much is holding them back. I expected them to be on par with kpop by now!

@dear_bae True. I feel like every artists just want to make a song that will go viral on tiktok. That's not receipe for long term success. And then you got the scandals. Tons of them. It's not that Kpop doesn't have scandals too, but the ones in Vpop is coming almost every week here.

If they keep focusing on going viral on TikTok then they will never expand beyond that. They should want to be known beyond the app and I feel like this mindset alone is keeping many of them stuck in one place.

Something needs to change or they will never get a bigger reach. Most people I know don't even bother with it because they believe kpop is way better.

The thing with kpop is... A lot of those artists are abused. I can't remember the word for it but they are treated almost like slaves rather than people, unless they make it big enough to go to another country.

I think that Vpop should provide as much as possible Veitnamese culture - this is the way to be unique exclusive and interesting for the audience. And also I agree with the opinion that government should pay more attention to the Vietnam music industry and support it.

But I cannot deny that music in Vietnam in the process of development, and singers have chosen the easiest way - to copy other's achivements. It is naturally. I hope and they would go through this stage of development quickly and would start to popularize their great culture.
