I think having a hat comes in handy more than people realize. The last time I was in Vietnam, it was cooler but because the sun is so harsh, it ended up burning my scalp! I likely had the wrong kind of product in my hair to be spending time out in the sun with!

@nhimxuxu I agree with this. As much as I would rather not wear them because they always mess my hair up, in the hot sun boy do you want one!

Something I always tell people is to wear bright colors. If you wear dark colors like black and navy, it attracts insects. Mosquitoes have an easier stop finding you when you wear dark colors.

@danggang I heard this before but someone said it was debunked because they are attracted to light colors as well. I guess you can rely more on essential oils for something like this to mask the smell of your sweat so they don’t smell you!

I may have said this in another thread but the weather has always been something I did not like about Vietnam. The humid weather I mean. I don’t mind rain or heat but when it is hot and humid, I am just not comfortable. Being prepared when traveling there makes a huge difference though!

The weather is always a concern when you’re traveling, but Hue is one of those places where it doesn’t really matter what time of year you go. The heat and humidity are pretty consistent all year round, which can be a bit draining if you’re not used to it. But the rainy season lasts only from May through September, so if you go during the dry season (October through April), you’ll still get plenty of sunshine and no rain!

You’re in for a treat! During the dry season (October through April), the sun shines brilliantly and the rain takes a break. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to bask in the sunshine and explore all the incredible things Hue has to offer. Trust me, it’s a marvelous time to visit!
