Should I rent electric or gas motorbikes

When renting a motorbike in Vietnam, you have the option of renting an electric or gas motorbike. Here are some things to consider when deciding which type of bike to rent:

  1. Gas motorbikes are cheaper to rent and operate than electric motorbikes.
  2. Electric motorbikes are more expensive to rent, but they are more environmentally friendly and have a longer range.
  3. Gas motorbikes are louder and produce more pollution than electric motorbikes.
  4. Electric motorbikes are heavier than gas motorbikes, making them less maneuverable.
  5. Charging stations for electric motorbikes are not as common as gas stations, so you may have to plan your route accordingly.

So, which type of bike should you rent when exploring Vietnam by motorbike? It really depends on your needs and preferences. If you’re looking for an affordable option and don’t mind the noise and pollution, then a gas motorbike is the way to go. If you’re looking for a more environmentally friendly option and don’t mind spending a bit more, then an electric motorbike is the way to go.

The popularity of motorbike rentals as a way to explore Vietnam is due, in part, to the fact that they are affordable and offer a more down-to-earth experience than some of the fancier modes of transportation. However, it’s important to note that motorbike rentals can also be very dangerous, so it’s important to take precautions before hitting the road.

When renting a motorbike in Vietnam, it is important to be aware of the dangers of the roads and take precautions to stay safe. Here are a few tips:

  1. Drive defensively. Be aware of your surroundings and be prepared for other drivers to do something unexpected.
  2. Wear a helmet. This is not only required by law, but it also keeps you safe in case of an accident.
  3. Drive slowly. The roads in Vietnam are often quite dangerous, so take your time and don’t try to rush through everything.
  4. Avoid driving at night. It is difficult to see in the dark and there is a higher chance of accidents happening.
  5. Beware of drunk drivers. Unfortunately, you may encounter drunk drivers on the roads in Vietnam, so be especially careful when driving at night.
  6. Plan your route in advance. This will help you to avoid dangerous areas and make sure that you are able to get to your destination safely.
  7. Always carry a map. In case you get lost, having a map will help you to find your way back.
  8. Bring plenty of water and snacks. This is especially important if you are driving in a rural area or doing a long road trip, as there may not be any places to stop for food or drink.

These are just a few things to keep in mind when renting a motorbike in Vietnam. Driving in this country can be a lot of fun, but it’s important to be safe and aware of your surroundings. Have a great trip!

Great information. I had considered doing this for my next trip just because of the area I wanted to visit. I would need to be able to get around easier and I think this is probably the easiest and cheapest way.

I’ve been to Vietnam three times, and I love it! I do have one word of caution: the drivers there are crazy! Seriously, they’ll drive right up on each other’s bumpers on the highway. Make sure you keep your eyes peeled when you’re out there—they don’t seem to follow many rules of the road, so you have to be on your toes!

Sure, I’d be glad to assist you with that! Renting a motorbike in Vietnam is a common way to explore the country, but there are a few things to keep inmind. Firstly, make sure you have a valid international driver’s license. Secondly, be prepared for the bustling traffic in Vietnam, so always drive attentively. Lastly, take pictures of the bike before you rent it to document any existing damages. Hope this helps! If you have any other questions, feel free to ask!

I have never considered renting one before but this is pretty helpful if I do.
I think it can be useful and even fun depending on the area I would be staying in!

My friends and I rented motorbikes for a trip to Vietnam, and we had no idea what we were doing. When we got pulled over by the police, we were shocked—we didn’t know you needed a license to drive a motorbike in Vietnam. They took us to the police station and held us until our friend (who speaks Vietnamese) could come down with the money.

We learned our lesson, but it definitely would’ve been helpful to have known this before our trip, haha.
