Great information. I had considered doing this for my next trip just because of the area I wanted to visit. I would need to be able to get around easier and I think this is probably the easiest and cheapest way.

I’ve been to Vietnam three times, and I love it! I do have one word of caution: the drivers there are crazy! Seriously, they’ll drive right up on each other’s bumpers on the highway. Make sure you keep your eyes peeled when you’re out there—they don’t seem to follow many rules of the road, so you have to be on your toes!

My friends and I rented motorbikes for a trip to Vietnam, and we had no idea what we were doing. When we got pulled over by the police, we were shocked—we didn’t know you needed a license to drive a motorbike in Vietnam. They took us to the police station and held us until our friend (who speaks Vietnamese) could come down with the money.

We learned our lesson, but it definitely would’ve been helpful to have known this before our trip, haha.
