This is becoming VERY tiring !!! How many times should I write that you DO NOT go to Sapa on WE???? It is full of very rude Chinese, who live 35 km away, and Hanoians, who take advantage of the direct express buses Hanoi-Sapa on Saturday (leave Hanoi around 7:30 – 5-hour ride) on the direct superhighway, or the Friday night train (leave Hanoi around 22:300, 9-hour ride Hanoi-Lao Cai + 1 hour minibus LC-Sapa, which means that you are in Sapa around 7:00, exhausted by a long bumpy night ride (one does not sleep well, for the railways are worn out, so, the wagons oscillate non-stop) and everything, hotels and homestay houses, restaurants and trails, is full of people. GO ON WEEK DAYS !!!

Saigon is not beautiful and boring to hell; Telling people that spending a week-end there is super is non-sense unless yo love concrete and an appalling traffic. Sapa is amazing, but NOT on week-ends. Now that the Chinese can enter Vietnam again they invade Sapa on WE because the border is only 35 km away. Together with the Russians, the Chinese are among the worst tourists on Earth, very rude, so, my recommendation is to stay away from Sapa on WE
