I know there was a thread on the topic but I thought I would just make an update. Everything can be swapped over and put in his name any day now but most people are suggesting it will still take a few weeks. Either way, it is happening this time for real. Any thoughts on it?

The news is still flip-flopping on this. One day he is, the next day he isn't. I am not on Twitter anymore but a friend of mine who has almost 10k followed said that his count dropped by 500 over night out of nowhere. They are doing something.

I don't care either way. If he buys it, fine. If not, fine.

I don't use the platform for political nonsense. I would prefer not to see so much of it honestly. I am mainly on there to follow music, artists, and creators.

I think this only has a big impact in the US. Most other countries just don't use the platform nearly as much. I have heard that most Americans on that platform are very toxic as well. They try to force their beliefs on everything like it is a religion.

I never understood why he wanted it. It seems so overpriced for what it is. I don't know why anyone would pay 44 billion! It doesn't earn all that much, does it?

@caphekitty I think the value is not really in the money it generates or the stocks but the power it has over people. At least in the US. I mean they were able to use both Twitter and Facebook to help rig the election but suppress information voters had every right to know about.

Apparently, he has some ideas for an app for Twitter. He does seem to really like a lot of what China does and is doing and that worries me. I am fairly certain WeChat is used by the government to spy on their own people.

For months, the Tesla and SpaceX CEO has expressed interest in creating his own version of China’s WeChat — a “super app” that does video chats, messaging, streaming and payments — for the rest of the world.
