I found this article to be very helpful in planning my trip to Vietnam. I was not aware of the different types of visas available, and the cost can vary greatly depending on the length of the trip. This article was very informative and helped me to plan my trip accordingly.

Cheapest most beautiful country in the world !!! A GOOD 2-star hotel (some with a pool) will cost you 18-25$ and a 3-stars 35-45, meals in street restaurants are about 8-15$, public transportation is very cheap (except  flights) and grocery products the same. If you stay in GOOD 2 and 3-star hotels and visit the country WITH A CHAUFFUR-DRIVEN CAR (you cannot rive on your own), count 100$ per day for the car (between 250 and 400 euros in France !!!!); 200$ per person including guide, hotels and restaurants

I managed only spending $900 last time I went. This is not including my flights though. I can’t remember what those cost but it was not very expensive. I did everything on a tight budget and still had an amazing time.

Hey, I’m going to Vietnam in a couple of months and want to know how much it costs. I’ve got $4000, but I don’t want to be afraid of spending it all. I think the plane ticket to Vietnam will already use up like $2000 of it since I’m going at a time when ticket prices will be high (Tet). How do you think I should spend the rest of money when I’m there?

The only thing I would add is that it is best to fly in and out of Hanoi or Saigon (HCMC), as it is the easiest way to get around Vietnam.

A friend of mine spent next to nothing on her last trip. The flights were dirt cheap and since she was staying with family, she didn’t pay for a hotel.

Hanbin_Fan

That’s fantastic! It sounds like your friend really scored with those economical flights and complimentary accommodation. Vietnam can definitely be a cost-effective destination if you know where to look. Apart from flights and accommodation, there are plenty of other ways to save money while exploring Vietnam. One recommendation I have is to try out the delectable street food, which is not only budget-friendly but also a marvelous way to immerse yourself in the vibrant culinary scene.

The cost of a trip to Vietnam depends on what you’re looking for. You can spend as little as $10 per day, or as much as $500+ per day if you want to stay in the best hotels and eat at the best restaurants.

I have seen people do a full 7 day trip for barely over $1,000 but you really need to know your way around and find a good deal on flights to pull that off!

I know a lot of people who are still surprised by the cost of a trip to Vietnam. They think it is $5,000+ and the only way you are spending that is if you are staying in a luxury hotel and buying expensive things. My last trip which was for 6 days was less than $2,000. I believe it was $1,850 total.
