I am seeing more and more advancements and a lot of artists are worried. Everything from writing to painting, even video and music will be impacted once AI takes off in a huge way. A lot of concerns are growing that this kind of technology can render artists useless in both song-writing, music, singing, and music videos.
Do you think AI technology will impact the music industry in Vietnam?
I don't know if it will happen any time soon in Vietnam but I do see growing trends in the US with using AI for art, music, etc. and it is worrying a lot of younger artists for sure.
AI can be beneficial for artists. There was a lot of concern that pirating songs would kill the music industry and that was 20 years ago. It is doing just fine still. I think people tend to worry more about things than they should.
I don't really follow AI tech all that much. I mean I have seen some bits of it here and there but I feel like they will just paywall everything anyways.
I am not sure. I think it will take a long time before it does if it ends up going that direction. It seems to be more of a Western issue in general.
AI is still a far ways out when it comes to effects the music industry in negative ways, at least in Vietnam. I am more concerned about them using famous peoples' likenesses for pornography. Did you hear about that scandal with Twitch streamers. Yikes!
@dear_bae I was going to say similar. I think in terms of trends, Vietnam is about 15 years behind from places like the US which isn't a bad thing. It is a good way not to make the same mistakes.
