The humid air is not for everyone. I know anytime I go to Vietnam be it in the Hoi An region or elsewhere, I need an adjustment period before I get used to it again.
It is fairly humid but there is such a mix in the patterns you really do get a bit of everything. I think the weather is great for vacations and short stays but if you plan on staying longer, going in the cooler months and in a cooler area is probably better.
I love the way you describe the weather in Hoi An. The mix of tropical and monsoon weather sounds like a great place to travel!
@vietzone The weather is something else for sure. I think it is beautiful but you have to be able to tolerate the heat and humid air which a lot of people just can’t. So it is best to plan to do a lot more in the early morning and later evening if you go during the height of the hot season.
Hi! I’m a resident of the area and wanted to give you some more information on the weather in Hoi An.
The weather is a bit more complicated than you make it out to be. We have two seasons: dry and wet. The dry season lasts from November to April (most of us consider it spring/summer), and then we have the monsoon season, which lasts from May through October.
Most days are sunny and warm, but you’ll see rain showers blow through almost every day, especially during the monsoon season. It’s not unusual at all for there to be a couple of days in a row where it rains all day long, but that only happens about once every couple weeks or so.
