I always hear of people being "canceled" online from major companies and brands, to celebrities, to just every day people being canceled from their smaller social groups. Is this something you have ever experienced?
I don't think so?? I mean if I was, I am not aware of it. lol
I do know someone who got fired because of this though. Someone didn't like a joke he made online so a group of people dug up information on him. Found out where he worked and just harassed his boss until he fired him. Only took him 2 weeks to cave.
Outside of forums like this, I am not on social media so I am not really in a position to be canceled. I just don't want to deal with any of the stress. I do have an Instagram account but I don't post anything. I just follow people.
No, but my brother has. He was actually banned from Facebook permanently. He liked to post memes and humor and one of his posts was taken way out of context. Ended up with thousands of replies in just a few days and he was banned that weekend.
@mrzero I feel like at this point, most people have been at least suspended from Facebook. That place just sounds awful to be a part of. I can't imagine still using it in 2022.
I only just learned what being canceled was a few months ago. It all just seems silly to me. Like some kind of high school level nonsense stemming from insecurities and immaturity.
