I love this list! I just went to Vietnam and have some of the same items. I would add a rain poncho, because it rains a lot there. Also, I highly recommend renting a motorbike while you're there. It's such a fun way to see the country!

The one thing I HATE about Vietnam are the dang bugs! It makes it so annoying to go anywhere in the early morning or evening cause I get bit up. Bug repellent is no joke for real. Make sure you bring plenty!

Would scarves be enough? I do not like hats.

I have not been to Vietnam since I was a young girl but I am going later this year!

@askaboutme You can use a scarf but it will not protect your face from the sun. I would invest in some big sunglasses at least if you do not want to wear a hat. Depending on the time of year, the sun's heat can be HARSH.

My only qualm with your list is that I would really add some kind of water bottle. The tap water isn't safe to drink, so you need bottled water.

@thanggalang I agree with this. Most people who go and drink from the tap end up with stomach issues because they are not accustomed to the water there. Having one with a good filter is ideal. Or you can buy bottled water there.

Oh, of course! How could I forget the all-important water bottle for a trip to Vietnam? Because, you know, the tap water is just sooo safe to drink. *eye roll* But hey, let's not worry about dehydration or anything. Who needs to stay hydrated in a foreign country, right?

Bottled water is a definite must in Vietnam. A water bottle is handy, too. Have you thought about including a portable water purifier? It could be a game-changer for your trip. Ever considered trying one out?

Anytime I go anywhere that is hot and humid, I always bring a filtered water bottle, a fan for my phone (those plug-in ones that use the phone battery), a hat, and some thin cloths that I can tie around my wrists. I make them wet and do this and it keeps me much cooler. I learned it from my friend's father who works as a construction man.

My trusty portable charger is a true travel essential that I never forget to pack! It's a lifesaver for staying connected on the go. Can you believe I almost forgot mine once? But hey, who can resist Vietnamese cuisine?

As someone who has traveled to Vietnam before, I completely agree that these are all must-have items, but I would also suggest bringing a lightweight rain jacket or poncho, as Vietnam can experience sudden downpours during the rainy season.

It sounds like Vietnam is a beautiful place to visit, but it's important to be prepared for the climate and conditions. Bringing lightweight clothing, comfortable shoes, and rain gear is a good idea to ensure a comfortable trip. I also appreciate the reminder to bring insect repellent and a first aid kit, as it's always better to be safe than sorry while traveling.
