So a bunch of small animals (hundreds) have tested positive for COVID-19 where I am and they have issued people to euthanize their pets if they test positive. Animals purchased after December 22nd seem to be in the target range. I am not sure what is going on either. It seems to mostly be hamsters and other rodents.

Isn't this in Hong Kong? I heard that this was the result of one pet store and the animals being put down came from that pet store. Not sure how this happened. I had no idea rodents could even catch it.

I heard about this as well but I don't know of anywhere around here where animals are catching covid. maybe where they were shipped from, someone had the virus and it was on the surface of the hamsters and gerbals? I am not sure how this works. As far as I know, it was only animal to human not human to animal.

I never heard of any testing positive. Everything I read on the virus was that humans can't give it to animals. I know we can get the virus from animals though but rodents being a carrier seems odd. Are bats considered rodents?

A friend of mine in the US said they recently had some lab monkies get loose. I guess they were on some truck or something and some woman got pretty sick from it. I hope this doesn't mean we are going to see another outbreak. God forbid...
