Do you think technology is making humanity less empathetic?

It seems like people are colder today than they used to be. People have become very offputting and reserved and don't want to truly connect with people, especially younger folks. They almost isolate themselves even if they are social.

Umm, yes and no.

I think people are almost too empathetic in the sense that they are too sensitive and always worrying about hurting other people's feelings, so much so, they have a desire to control other people. What they say, what they do, how they think... It is quite annoying!

@kikobeep I don't know if I would say this is being empathetic because their concern is coming from a selfish place. These types of people want to be viewed as morally superior.

I think to a point, it is but this is more so an issue with socilisation. We are more social online than in person and it is kind of desensitizing us to having concern, a real concern for people who we do not know.

@nhimxuxu I have heard people express the same concerns. Like because kids are growing up more online, they are less capable of socializing and handling things like criticism. They have become fragile to the real world and end up being preyed on by cults!

It is causing issues with socialization and forming relationships for sure but that is seen more with kids who have grown up with everything we have now. So you will see it mostly in the kids and young adults born after 2001.

I think technology has made it easier to take advantage of people and has made people bored of the world. I see so many people faking personalities and lifestyles online only to come to find out there are very lonely and depressed.
