No, I have no concerns. I am in a committed relationship and am straight. The people who are most affected by the monkeypox are gay and bisexual men.
I don't need the vaccine. I am not in the areas where it would be spreading. I think anyone who hangs out in gay bars or has gay friends who are very sexually active, they should consider getting the shot. It can be spread via touch.
I am not worried. I do fear for other people but this is something that is easily preventable. Either stick with one partner, or put off having sex until the outbreak is sorted.
It is a slow-spreading virus that requires pretty close skin-to-skin contact. I would imagine a straight person is more likely to get ringworm from someone than monkey pox.
I have a gay friend who isn't even worried about it. He is engaged to be married to his partner and they have been exclusive for over 3 years now so they know each other is clean and safe. Plus, they don't go to typical gay gatherings like nightclubs and that. They are more focused on starting up their business and adopting a child. Working on their 5 year plan.
