I noticed as I am getting older, I have more and more aches and pains. Something I have been dealing with for the last year or so is lower back pain. I have tried ice, heat, etc. but nothing is helping it go away. I notice it most when lying down or bending over. Anyone know a good way to get rid of it?

Usually, this is down to inactivity or poor posture, sometimes both. Do you exercise? Do you have a desk job? It might help to see a chiropractor to get adjusted!

You could have some defeciencies. Usually, if the body is not able to repair injuries like this, it is down to not getting the right nutrition or your body adapting to a less favorable position. Posture should be the first thing you get checked.

Maybe your bed is the problem? I had back trouble until I changed my mattress a few years ago. I didn't even realize how bad it was until my sister told me she had felt like she was sleeping on rocks when she was house-sitting my cats in my apartment.

Sit up straight! You might notice pain when you do this and it will feel horrible for a few days to a few weeks but once your body adjusts, it will make repairs and you will feel beter.

See how you are sleeping. Check your mattress. I had some HORRIBLE back trouble before and it ended up being down to sleeping on too soft of a mattress.

Oh, I had this problem and it was really long journey. I had an addiction to painkillers for 4 years! I even wanted to make a surgery, but my dear doctor told me that all I need to do - is a move in a right (!) way. When you have a pain, your brain send you a signal that something wrong. People have a sedentary lifestyle, and the brain perceives any unfamiliar movement as a danger and send you a signal. So you need to show that movements are not bad for your body. Here you need to find a professional coach who would tell you what exactly should you do to cope with the pain. Now I go to the gym for almost a year, and I do not take painkillers since November and I am very happy with it. Gym is the best treatment!

Movement makes a world of difference!

I always recommend that people move more when they are having issues with pain. If you don't exercise then you should look into things like yoga.
