Nervous stomach?

I always had somewhat of a nervous stomach issue but I noticed the older I get, the more my stomach reaches when I am stressed out. The last several days now I have not been able to eat much. I get pain a few hours after eating and it has put me off from wanting to eat much. I am also having IBS-related issues. I am not sure what to do about this. No matter what I eat, my body seems to be unhappy.

The recent bout was due to stress with a family member passing away. I cried a lot for a few days following and I am still upset but I am able to keep it together without crying much but my stomach is still a mess.

Is this normal?

I am not sure as I am not a doctor but I know when I am nervous, I will almost always have to rush to the bathroom. It happened to me once on a trip to another country. It thankfully didn't happen until after I was in my hotel!

Stress can mess up your digestive system very easily. Just think of the butterflies you get when you are a kid from being nervous. It feels like a fluttering uneasiness. Prolonged stress can actually cause issues with digestion to the point where they will need to be corrected through diet.
