New social platforms?

I don't mean forums but social media platforms. Places you can share pictures or just post words. Something like Twitter. Are there any new ones? I have come to find that the popular ones have too many issues to deal with. I would like to have a social platform though of some sort.

I don't know of any worth signing up to. A lot of the newer platforms are just clones of Twitter with the same issues but magnified. People have a way of ruining things online these days which is why I stick to forums.

I agree with the above.

Social platforms are not healthy places to be. So much division, abuse, and just people not being nice to each other. The only one I use is Instagram and that is to see pictures of different places, plant life, and wild life.

There are a lot of newer ones but you run into the same problems on all of them. They are either too hard to use, they have too many people who have the same views which creates a bubble, or the platforms are mostly dead.

I know exactly what you mean. I'm with you on the feeling of wanting to stay in touch with people online while also not wanting to deal with the hassle that comes along with the popular social platforms out there.

I heard the founder of Twitter Jack Dorsey is working on a new one called Bluesky Social. Also, what ever happened to Clubhouse? I think it's still around but I don't really hear about it anymore.

@PopQueen92 I heard about that too. I am shocked though because he has said Twitter was a huge mistake multiple times over the years because of what it has become. People are not designed to be in one places talking to each other on that scale. There are too many people for it to ever work and not be stressful.

I am burned out on social media. I rejoined Twitter and ended up leaving again. The place is still very toxic and annoying. I thought it would have improved. It has not.
