This bums me out because I love the security but not everyone I talk to has it installed so I will end up needing to use two messenger apps which will be super annoying. Are there any other options like this that don't charge you monthly?

I heard about this. It may give me issues as well. I looked into options and only found paid ones. The one I liked the sound of the most did not support SMS at all.

There really isn't any other option.

I mean not unless you want to risk someone selling your data. I am sure more options will come onto the market when Signal does away with it.

I am not sure. I know of other options but nothing functions quite like Signal and none of them offer as much privacy, that is for sure.

Every alternative I looked into was owned by a company I do not trust be it Amazon or Facebook, I am just not happy about this but I am not going to give up Signal over it. The main people I text use it anyway.

Did anyone ever find a solution? I only just found out about this and haven't been able to find an alternative to Signal for this. I know they haven't pulled the plug on this support yet but it is coming.
