What would be a good wedding gift for my sister?

She is getting married in February and I really don't know what to get her. I have been putting it off but I need to decide sooner rather than later. I only have a month left. I don't know what makes a good wedding gift having not been to one since I was a child.

I think a good gift for your sister would be something that she could use to remind her of the old days with you and the family. Since she is getting married, she will be starting a new life with her husband and possibly living far away.

There are all kinds of wedding gifts on Etsy. I got my friend who got married last year a beautiful wall piece made from wood that says Mr. & Mrs. with the last name. They both loved it.

I tend to do a join gift for stuff like this. Something both people can enjoy. The last wedding I went to I got a couples package at a spa that included massages.

You can just keep it simple and get a bottle of her favorite wine. There are places that customize it as well and you can get their names put on a label for them.

Did you decide on something yet?

A friend of mine has family that recently got married and he got the bride (his cousin) a very beautiful wood carving with the date of the wedding and both the names. It is meant to be hung in their first home together. She really loved it.

I am wondering what you got as well cause I need to some ideas! lol My friend announced she is engaged just the other day and they set the date in March. I have time but I don't want to be rushing around last minute.

MONEY in a beautiful envelope, so much smarter than buying a gift that she might not like or have a use for ! That is what most people do in Vietnam, which explains the great number of guests invited at a weeding ; the more guests, the more money. Traditionally, at the entrance of the eating place, there is a table with envelopes and a small box to put them. Usually, the minimum is 500 000 VND (approximately 20$)

@larsay Having recently gone to a wedding shower, that was the main thing people were giving and it was requested. They were putting the money toward a down payment on their first house together!
