I am asking for a friend who wants to go this year. I think she had already missed the cheapest time which I believe is in January but I could be wrong! We both live in the US.

March and April for the spring and September and October for the fall. You will find the best deals and prices in these four months.

I agree with Boo_chan. Those really are the best months. I would say that if weather is an issue, only go in September or October though.

I still think the best time to go to Vietnam is November through January but I know this can also be more expensive. You will still experience some heat if you go in September or early October.

Cost wise, it tends to be March as the cheapest month this varies year to year. It depends on fuel costs and other things happening. Right now, I think most flights are still up. Second best time to look would be September.

@haitay Yeah they are. Flights are up by about 15% from what I could tell. I can't see them coming back down to the rates they were a few years ago any time soon.

I read somewhere that prices are expected to go up this year and stay up going into 2024. Now I am not sure how much truth there is to this but it was mentioning how the war in Ukraine is effecting fuel prices.
