Mai Linh and Vinasun are the only taxi services I know that are truly taxi services. The rest seem to be similar or exactly like Uber where they are a ride-sharing company.

Didn't uber or whatever it is called get bought out in Vietnam and doesn't even operate anymore? I remember reading that somewhere months ago.

@homeg1rl yes, Uber was acquired by Grab. They couldn't compete in Southeast Asia.

In my experience, Goviet is quite fast but danger:(( It sent my heart jumping in my mouth few times ago. And taxi I don't really use it in HCM because if you don't know street well there, you may be deceived around and around. So I think Grab app is the best to use

Some of the taxi services feel like they are out to scam you so a price comparison would be helpful. Is there a place where you can actually view stats like this?

The best taxi app in Vietnam is definitely Grab. It's really convenient and user-friendly, plus it's affordable too. I've tried using other apps but none of them come close to Grab in terms of service and price.

@vietzone I think it's important to note that this list doesn't include Uber. You can't use Uber in Vietnam because Uber had to pull out of Southeast Asia as it couldn't compete with other apps like Grab, which is a shame since it's one of the most popular apps for local transportation in other countries.

I think this is a good article that compares the different taxi apps in Vietnam. The author compares the four most popular: Grab, Vinasun, Gojek, Fast Go and compares their prices and features. I personally use Gojek because it is cheaper than Grab but if you want to save money then Vinasun is a good alternative.

I have used all of these apps, and I have to say that I definitely prefer Grab over the rest. The user interface is easy to use, and it's always a pleasure to talk to their customer service team if you need help with anything.

I think the best way to evaluate this is to look at the experience of each company. For example, Gojek has a lot more experience with the Vietnamese market than Grab does. I've been using Gojek for over 2 years now and it's really great!

I think the best taxi app for Vietnam is Gojek, because it's got all the features you need and it's easy to use. It's also available in English and has a great app for your phone, so you can use it in Vietnam without any trouble. I've used it several times and have never had any problems with it!
