Correcting posture at my desk?

I have been having more and more neck and back pains and I know it is because my seated posture is awful. It does not help that I work at a desk for several hours every day.

Is there a way to self-correct my posture while seated at my desk?

One of the easiest ways to do this is to find a chair with a low back and sit in reverse. This will force your hips and pelvic bone to straighten and relax as well as take pressure off your back.

You can buy one of those stability balls and use that in place of a chair. It will force you to sit upright and balance while working out the muscles in your core. Should help with pain!

Stand more often. I think sitting still longer than 30 minutes is what damaged the body. So long as you get up every 30 minutes and just stretch for a minute or two, you should start to see improvements.

I am going to implement these tips and see if it helps, thank you, everyone! I have heard of the ball thing and I actually do think I already have one. I will see if I can find it and use that as a chair.

Let me know how the balls works out for you. I was debating on getting one for my home office since I am sitting at my desk now more, working from home.

When I had back and neck pain, I changed about 3-4 chairs, and nothing helped me at least slightly reduce my pain. So, I changed my approach. I discovered that the cause of my bad posture was weak back muscles. That’s why I started training. I did no bodybuilding, just some regular exercises to strengthen my back and core muscles.
