A lot of the traditions I grew up with, my family and I no longer do. As people moved away or passed away, things changed over the years. I want to start my own traditions but I really don't know where to even begin with something like this. Any suggestions?

Do you have any pets? I started my own tradition with my cats, and now dog. I buy them gifts each year and let them open them on Christmas Eve. It is kind of like our own little thing and I know my cats know what it is having grown up with it and my dog is catching on too.

If you are single, just start with things you can do on your own and expand them as more people come into your life. My brother started a few of his own traditions and when he met his then girlfriend, now wife, he changed it to include her.

What are some things you enjoy as hobbies? Maybe start there and try to incorporate that into these traditions. I have a hard time thinking of things myself. It might help to watch some christmas movies and get inspired!

^ I was going to suggest that. Look at some holiday films or TV episodes where people are being festive. I am sure something will inspire you.

Do you enjoy baking of any kind? Maybe doing crafts? A friend of mine has made ornaments with his family since he was a child, still does it as a grown adult. I think it is a sweet tradition.

Traditions are best when you share them with someone so maybe that is why you are struggling to think of something new to do?
