I think everyone has at least one item, outside of their phone, wallet, etc. that they bring with them every time they travel. I am curious what your item is. For me, I never travel without my camera. I do not rely on my phone for good pictures. My camera does a much better job and I am able to not worry about needing to charge my phone every few hours.
I always bring my hair tools. I have 3 and I never go on a vacation with out them. I like to have my hair styled a certain way and don't mind being without extra clothes or shoes if it means fitting those in my suitcase!
I always bring my laptop. I don't know if this counts as an extra but I would imagine most people don't and just rely on their phones. I like to have my laptop for planning as well as browsing in bed or while waiting for something at the hotel.
I always bring a med kit with me. It has basic things in it like pain relievers, bandages, and things like that. I think it is a good idea to have something like this so you don't have to worry about going somewhere or relying on the hotel to have what you need.
@dear_bae That is actually smart. I will bring a few things like this but never an actual kit. I know the airlines limit liquids and things you can take on the plane making this a pain in the butt to plan out.
Outside of my phone, passport/ID, wallet, and all those things - I really just take what I need depending on where I am going. I pack light so I have room to bring stuff back with me.
