I feel like technology is only going to continue to advance and the more it does, the more it will not only be integrated into our lives but also into our bodies. That is a scary thought for me. I am not sure how I feel about any of it. I worry that technology will be used to control and enslave us without us even realizing it. Maybe it already has?
A friend of mine said this is why there is such a push for trans people to be "normalized" in the west. They want to use them as a means to integrate new technology as they would be more open to it than other people - having a need to surgery, hormones, etc. that can be solved using tech gear. I don't buy into this though. I think it is all about money (using the LGBT to pander and gain more wealth, this is why companies support and push it).
I really don't know. I feel like things can get really bad if we do. I can't ever see it turning into some sort of Terminator scenario but it can get bad.
Millions are addicted to it and most places in the world now rely on it.
We are in a scary space when you think about it and there is no turning back without millions of people dying. That is what I worry about. We have become so reliant that if the internet alone were to go out for whatever reason for an entire company, it would compromise so much!
When it comes to healthcare and options, yes we are. We have been for some time now. Just look at prosthetics, heart monitors (the ones put inside the body), etc.
@caphekitty This is a good point. I didn't even think of this. Don't we have robotic limbs and stuff at this point? I heard about contact lens that allow you to see better as well, like by actually zooming in!
My brother is convinced that we will end up like Cyberpunk, that video game. They even talk about a war in the US that splits the country apart. I am not sure if I will remain in the US my whole life. I am considering moving to Vietnam since I have family there.
