I remember watching older shows and movies that talked about us having flying cars in the 2000's.
Here we are, 2022, and no such thing exists. We can hardly get electric vehicles right. It seems we are still a ways off from having flying cars!
Flying cars would require more than just technology, it would require people to be better drivers by a huge margin and I just don't see that happening. So unless public transport becomes the norm (most people not driving) I can't see us having flying cars in my lifetime.
I can see them being a thing for public transportation. Have you ever watched West World? Or Westworld? I can't remember if it is one or two words at the moment. They have shuttles that fly people around, no driver. I can see something like that being a thing.
I am guessing sometime in 2050. I think we are still a goo 25+ years out from anything like this. Even then, it seems like lifestyles would have to change a lot for this to work.
I think flying cars for public transport and shipments could be a thing but not for a while. Maybe in like another 40 years we will have something like this. I will be too old to care at that point.
They want everyone to drive unreliable EVs. I feel like this is going to make a push for less people driving in which case, I could see flying vehicles becoming a thing but I have a feeling only very rich people will be able to afford it.
