If your dream job was offered to you but you had to move a 2+ hour flight away from where you live now, would you take the job? I asked this to most of my friends and only 2 of them said they would. Most don't want to be that far from friends and family.

I don't think I would for the very reasons you mentioned. The thought of going somewhere new where I don't know anyone, it is scary. I would hate to have to go through that! I don't mind when I am just visiting on a vacation.

No, I like to be around my family. I don't like to be more than an hour's drive away. I know flying 2 hours isn't that big of a deal but with the direction prices are going, most people will not be able to afford it in another 10 years.

I would but I don't think I would be saying this if I had a partner and children.

I would find it too hard to just uproot like that with people relying on me.

I mean I don't even know what my dream job would be. Maybe something to do with online, maybe being a famous blogger or owning a site that generates a lot of income? I like passive work that allows me to explore my hobbies so really, I wouldn't need to move for my dream job!

I think I would but who knows!

I feel like as I get older, I will likely lean toward saying no because once you have roots established somewhere it becomes harder to move.
