There are not too many scams but they are out there and they prey on people they know that are outsiders. So really, knowing some Vietnamese really does help with this. You are less likely to be scammed if you seem more familiar with the area.

These are simple yet impactful tips. I think a lot of people just wing it and end up confused, lost, or being taken advantage of. There are apps I believe you can use to see the fair costs from one place to another and some cab companies even have their own apps in Vietnam.

I'm glad to hear that there are apps and services to help make the taxi experience in Vietnam more reliable. It's always a good idea to be informed when traveling!

Yeah, being informed is key! Those apps are a lifesaver. By the way, did you know some taxis in Vietnam don't use meters?

I agree with all of these tips. I think the most important is to be patient and not get frustrated. In Vietnam, taxi drivers are used to driving around in circles, so it can take a long time for them to find where you are. Also, if you don't speak Vietnamese, it's very difficult for the driver to understand what you're saying so learn a little Vietnamese or get the translation app ready in your hands.

Great tips, but I'd add that you should be sure to call a cab from a reputable company. There are plenty of scams and rip-offs in Vietnam, so it's important to do your research!

Great tips! I would also add that it's important to know your destination and have the address ready when you call the taxi. Many drivers don't speak English, so having the address in Vietnamese will make things a lot easier!

Sticking to trusted companies is key. Also, consider using ride-hailing apps for added convenience and safety. It’s all about making smart choices while exploring new places!

I always recommend checking the driver’s rating before hopping in. Do you prefer using apps or traditional taxis when you travel? Both have their perks!

This is a great resource, and I'm sure that many people will find it helpful.

I think it would be a good idea to mention that taxi drivers in Vietnam tend to speak English very well. Also, taxis in Vietnam are relatively inexpensive and efficient. You can expect to pay anywhere from $1-$10 USD per trip depending on where you're going and how far away that location is from your current location.

I think taxis can be hard for people who are not familiar with the area. No matter if you are in a major city in Vietnam or a small town, a lot of people tend to overlook the basics and get taken advantage of!
