Can you get in trouble if you sneak into Vietnam?

So this is just a question, as I imagine some people do try it. What kind of trouble would someone get into, if they tried to sneak their way into Vietnam without coming in legally? How much trouble could someone face?

And before anyone says, I'm not trying to sneak in lol. I'm just curious what would happen if someone were to try.

yes especially during covid season. Vietnam doesn't want covid to get out of hand. There was news a few months ago where some Chinese smuggled into Vietnam with the help of some Vietnamese people. They brought people who had covid into the country and cases went back up.

I think it happens more rampant than people think in the Northern highlands of Vietnam. The girls there are very beautiful and tall. I always hear about these horror stories of them being kidnapped and brought to China sold as young brides. But the VN and Chinese government have been cracking down on this. Either way, these sickos find ways to lure them across the border through fake job opportunities.

@thanggalang The girls you're talking about are girls from the Hmong tribes. Idk why you're saying they're tall though because ethnic groups in higher altitudes are generally shorter than ethnic groups in lower altitudes. The tribes in the Northern highlands of Vietnam poor so the young girls get kidnapped by Vietnamese/Chinese Hmong traffickers or sold by their parents to middle-aged Chinese farmers. There's a shortage of females and high competition in China so older farmers just buy brides. This occurrence is less common with ethnic Kinh Vietnamese people but that sometimes they get kidnapped and sold to the Chinese farmers too. It's pretty disgusting. Also, in Hmong traditional culture, they have bride kidnapping. There was a case of Hmong bride kidnapping in my state a couple of years ago where the guy kidnapped a minor. There are also Hmong men from the US who go over to Laos to buy a Hmong bride (sometimes minors) and bring them back to the US too. I wish China, Laos, and Vietnam would give these traffickers harsher punishments...

If you tried to sneak into Vietnam during this pandemic time, like pewdee said, you would probably get in more trouble than normal. I don't see why there would be a reason to sneak in unless you're from the neighboring countries (China, Cambodia, Laos) looking for better opportunities or smuggling drugs or humans. Visiting Vietnam as a tourist during normal times is easy (if your country is on the e-visa list), so there would be no reason to sneak in. There are people who come to Vietnam on a tourist visa and leave every 3 months to Cambodia to renew their visa so they can stay in Vietnam longer.
