I have only ever been on bus tours. I know there are a number of different kinds depending on where you are and what you want to see but those are the only ones I am familiar with.

On one of my first trips as an adult in Vietnam, I went on two different culinary tours and it really opened my eyes and my tastebuds to new experiences! I think anyone who wants to truly get a  taste of Vietnamese cuisine, you have to go on one!

I have to say, I'm always a little bit surprised when people are looking for a guided tour. I feel like you can do so much more when you're on your own!

I understand your desire for independence to explore at your own pace. However, guided tours can provide valuable perspectives, expert guidance, and convenience. Moreover, you can still enjoy personal time to pursue your own interests within the tour schedule. It's a harmonious blend!

I don't tend to like guided tours if I have already been to the place before. That being said, I have gone on a few in Vietnam and they were nice. One even had an English speaker at no additional cost which was helpful as I am still learning the language.

I've done a few of these tours and they're a great way to learn about the country. I loved getting to know the history of Vietnam, as well as meeting some locals and hearing their stories.

How much do tours typically cost? I have not gone on one. I never really thought to as I like to explore on my own. At the same time though, I feel like I could be missing out.

@1988tq They are not a lot, when compared to other places in the world but the cost overall depends on where you are and what the tour is for.

I've been to a few different types of guided tours in Vietnam, and I've found that the most interesting ones are the ones that focus on the history of the country. It's a lot of fun to learn about the different cultures and the battles that were fought in Vietnam.
