These soul foods all had one thing in common - nothing went to waste! They made fried chicken out of gizzards and chitterlings (pig intestines) into "chitlins." The pork skin was turned into 'cracklins.' They found ways to make the most out of nothing.

I love a good soul food meal. It has been some time since I had one. I love the richness of them and how you feel extra full. Anytime I have had one, I'd need a nap after, anyone else? lol
