According to the World Bank’s July 2020 Taking Stock report, Vietnam’s recent economic performance is a result of its twin engines of growth — export demand and domestic consumption — firing sequentially during the first two quarters of 2020.
I think it has an affect on most countries economy. The US economy is a mess as a result, and continues to get worse. I'm unsure how it's affecting Vietnam, but I imagine the economy over there has taken somewhat of a hit. But, it's gotta be doing a lot better than the US.
Yes, COVID-19 has affected the economy of Vietnam. Thankfully, it hasn't been hit as hard as some other countries due to their great handling of the pandemic. The tourism sector of Vietnam in particular has been affected pretty hard because of the travel restrictions. I saw an article a couple of months ago that said hotels in Da Nang were being put up for sale. Hoi An businesses have been affected too since Hoi An is such a popular tourist destination in Vietnam. People are losing their jobs and some businesses had to file for bankruptcy.
yes it has, just look at HCMC videos on youtube and you'll see many places closed down because of the lack of foreign tourists. Ben Thanh Market is struggling.
The whole world is affected by this annoying virus. The sooner we're rid of it, the better. The economy should actually be doing better with everyone in the states pretty much getting unemployment. And soon enough, we'll probably see another stimulus check in the states. Not sure what is being done in other countries though. It's why I want to move to Vietnam one of these days.
