Many people believe that traditional Vietnamese culture is at risk of being lost in modern times, as younger generations become more interested in Western culture, Chinese/Korean culture and technology. However, there are also efforts to preserve and celebrate Vietnamese culture, such as traditional festivals, music, and fashion. It's important to find a balance between modernization and cultural preservation to ensure that Vietnam's rich heritage is not forgotten. Do you think traditional Vietnamese culture is being lost in modern times?

I mentioned my concerns with this. It really comes down to the youth being able to continue to value their culture and not try to place it like other countries have.

@aodaii I agree with this. So long as there is value in the culture and it is something they actively want to preserve, it will not be lost. I just worry that diversity will make its way in and change the landscape. I am all for people coming together but when you start bringing in different cultures and backgrounds, your nation's can get erased.

I don't think they will end up going down the same route at other nations. We see what losing the culture can do and how it divides people and upsets the family balance.

I think it could be but I don't think it currently is. I am sure they have looked at the mistakes made by other nations in accepting modern culture and it does not benefit them. I think keeping your roots, traditional culture, and staying family oriented will protect from these things.

It's important to strike a balance between preserving traditional Vietnamese culture and embracing modernity. We don't have to choose one over the other, but we should strive to find harmony between the two.

I think that some of the youth could be going in a bad direction but it is up to the parents and the elders to keep them on a good path that continues to value their culture and be proud of it.

Unfortunately, Vietnamese are like every other tribe in the world, insisting in monkeying Americans. There was a nice times when Europeans wore nice clothes and Americans were mocked for their appalling attire; no longer: nowadays, you are a nerd if you do not wear a      T-shirt, jeans, if possible with a vomiting combination of colours, and a pair of sneakers, . However, the Viêt are very proud of their culture and keep very alive a lot of their traditions in clothing (the still wear the beautiful au dai pants end dress to important occasions, in restaurants, the local airlines stewardesses, etc., many women wear a conical hat even in big towns), habitat, beliefs (for example, they still burn every day votive papers or faked bank notes to attract luck during the day and many burn them also in the evening to thank the good spirits if the day has been good)

@larsay While it's true that American culture has had a significant impact on Vietnam, I think it's important to appreciate the ways in which Vietnamese people have held onto their traditions. It's wonderful to see them still wearing the beautiful ao dai dress, and I find the conical hat to be such a unique and charming accessory.

The culture in America seems to have flooded in and not the good parts of it. More a less the "hood culture" that is celebrated in America for whatever reason. I don't like seeing it in Vietnam or any Asian country for that matter.

I think it is showing signs of decay but it is not to the point where it will be damaging. There is still time for them to establish stronger roots and keep the youth invested in their heritage.

I don't know if it is being lost completely. Time will tell. I sure hope they don't go the same route as America. Like what culture does America have at this point? They destroyed everything.
