VinFast, the Vietnamese automaker, has delivered its first batch of 45 VF8 electric crossovers in the United States. The vehicles were shipped from Vietnam and will be used for testing and homologation purposes. VinFast plans to begin sales of its electric vehicles in the US market in late 2022 or early 2023.
I don't know much about the auto market in Vietnam but I have heard of VinFast. It is very cool to see them expanding but I think EVs need a lot of work before they can become the standard. They need better batteries and we need better grids to handle more people needing to charge their cars.
@truebabyThey have a lot of dealerships in California. You never know when you might spot a VinFast EV around California but I think it may take another year or more before it becomes more common on the road.

This is a major milestone for VinFast and Vietnam. The US market is tough to crack, but they've done it!
I am not a car person so I really never heard of this brand. I don't even know what the big EV brands are outside of Tesla and I only know about that one because of memes and jokes people make.

Not that tough to crack ! All what American wants absolutely is a very efficient after-sale service. The Us are the second market for Mercedes and BMW (not for Volkswagen any longer since the disappearance of the Beetle) and Toyota is everywhere as well.
