The French conquest of Vietnam has me interested. I learned about this in school. I think the time periods around the war (WWII) have been done into the dirt but I also don't know enough to want to see something dating way, way back.
@askaboutmeThe history of the Ngô dynasty (939 AD – 965 AD) and the history the Tây Sơn dynasty (1778 AD - 1802 AD) are the periods of Vietnamese history that I find to be the most interesting as both of them ended with an unification of Vietnam and I love stories where it ends with the unification of a country.
I would have to really learn more about these to pick. I don't know enough about the history to say which one I would like to see adapted into a film, show, or animated series.
The Indochina Wars. The reason is because I have a lot to learn of the culture and history and would want to work my way back so starting with this time period would make sense and be the more familiar to me.
@truebaby I think I would pick the same for similar reasons. I have never been good with history or remembering things so I would like to start somewhere that would be easier for me to follow.
