Do you enjoy camping?

I have never been camping in the traditional sense. I have only ever stayed in a cabin. A group of friends are planning a camping trip for the end of August and I have to decide if I want to go or not. I don't know how I will feel camping in a tent on the ground.

Does anyone here enjoy camping? What have your experiences been like?

I have only gone once and I didn't like it. I couldn't sleep on the ground. Every time I got a tickle I thought a bug was on me. It was too humid to sleep and I just tossed and turned all night and was too tired to do anything during the day.

I have gone a number of time and like it but you have to be prepared for it. If you have a hard time sleeping or have issues with bugs, camping will likely not be enjoyable for you.

Camping is not for everyone. You are already thinking you won't enjoy it so you probably won't. Camping in a tent is WAY different than in a cabin or even an RV.

I agree with you on this. Camping is not something you can just spring on yourself. Most people who enjoy camping started doing it when they were kids.

I liked camping when I was younger. These days, I would much rather stay in a place with AC and clean surroundings. I do still go fishing and spend time outdoors, but I need my AC and comfortable setting to sleep.

No. Not at all. I love nature but I don't like being surrounded by it non-stop. I can't stay bugs and once I have bugs on me, I become very itchy so camping for me is not pleasant. I wouldn't be able to sleep.

I think you should keep your friends company. Like any outdoor activity, hiking helps to improve physical fitness.

Camping in the sense that you pitch tents and sleep on the ground... I don't like that. I will go camping in a cabin or RV though. A lot of people call this Glamping though, aka glamor camping lol
