Do you have economic concerns heading into the winter?

It seems like the news goes on and on about food shortages and oil shortages, power outages, winters of death and despair and it just all sounds so grim. I see this for many areas around the world. Are you having any worries about the economy where you live?

I have had my concerns since prior to 2020. Many places were on a downward trend and the lockdowns and everything somewhat sped things up. We would be where we are now around 2028 but instead we are there now in 2022.

My biggest concern is that the cost of living keeps going up. I feel like I was finally getting ahead and now I am being pushed back. I was planning on buying a home in 2020 but things have been looking down for me since.

@caphekitty Same here. I am spending an extra $300 a month right now on just food for me and my pets. It is insane. My cat's food is double what it was just two years ago.

I am concerned I will never be able to buy a house either. It seems like everything is working against the people who aren't well off. Like I don't know of a single person earning under 6 figures who has not been struggling with things.

I do. I think most people do, at least those who rely on their own income. I heard that things are going to get pretty bad in some places. I stocked up on some food just in case.

I am worried still about the cost of food. It seems like every month things are going up. Even non-food items. The cat litter I buy for my cats has gone up almost $3 per bag! That is an extra $6 I am spending a month just on litter. Like Nom mentioned, food costs are up for cats as well. I had to switch brands because I could not afford to be paying $40 a case for food, of which, only covered enough for 12 DAYS!

I have had worries since 2020 when the lockdowns started. I knew if it was longer than 2 weeks, it would be damaging and it has been. I know so many people who can't even afford to buy a house nor afford their rent. What are they to do now?

I started stocking up on items like water, canned goods, pasta, and things like that. Just in case things get bad. I have maybe a month's worth of food. I just don't want it to come to that though. I am worried things are going to be worse for millions of people come 2023.
