I am considering getting one, something compact with a solid charge on it. I want to have something to take with me when I travel. I don't know when I will be going anywhere further out but I have a road trip planned for April. I am just not sure what to look for when shopping around for drones.

I don't know a whole lot about drones but it sounds like you would want one that has good video quality. I would start by finding what your budget is and then look for reviews in that price range on YouTube.

@teresanguyen I agree with this. Anytime I am looking for get anything new be it a phone or camera, I will look at reviews and make comparisons of quality.

I have one of those pocket drones. It doesn't record anything and only lasts maybe 20 minutes on a charge. I got it mainly to play with my cats. I don't know anyone that has one of those good ones that records footage or anything.

I have the DJI Mini 2. It is a mid-range drone with great video quality but it only allows for about 27 minutes of flight time. Sometimes less. They advertise 31 minutes but I have never gotten that. It is good for just taking a look around for a few minutes.

More and more people have one. It is prohibited over some historical areas such as Halong Bay (fortunately !!!!)

I was going to mention that ^

You have to be mindful of the people and the places when you take drones to Vietnam. Not everyone wants them being flown around. They are great when you are away from cities and crowds. It is best to only use them by the water our when way out in nature.

A friend of mine has a few and I flew one and crashed it. I thought I had broken it and felt terrible. It was fine but I have not wanted to fly one again since. I just don't like the risk of breaking something like that when the good ones are not cheap!
