A lot of people seem to be freaked out over it. I use the platform mostly to keep in touch with online friends from various forums. I have never had an issue with it. I don't talk politics and just keep things easy going. I think the people who are upset are those who are too invested in politics. I do wonder what he would change if he bought it. It seems they don't want to allow it to happen though.
I don't think they are going to let him. A friend of mine said that he is only doing this to raise the shares and then he will sell them. Just another pump and dump plan. That is what he is known for.
@haitay I think I'm with you on this one. Twitter board members aren't going to be handing over Twitter to Elon Musk, especially since Elon Musk is a staunch Republican, while the majority of Twitter users are Democrats.
Elon Musk says he's half Democrat, half Republican but think he's more of a conservative. He might even unban Trump from Twitter once he has full control.
I'm not too bothered by it, to be honest. After all, we haven't had a decent bloke running the place since Jack Dorsey got the boot, and at least Musk can't be worse than Dorsey.
The real question, I think, is what could come of this?
But the thing about Elon Musk is that he'll say whatever pops into his head. And what pops into his head is usually pretty crazy, like the idea of buying Twitter!
I think it would be really interesting to see how well Twitter might do with Elon at the helm. Most likely, though, I think Elon will get bored and move on before anything can come of his latest idea…
I think someone said he plans on selling his shares to tank the stock and then making deals with the shareholders directly and if they block this, they will face lawsuits worth billions. So Elon is going to end up buying it. I am just not sure what he plans to do with it.
He said something about firing Twitter's board shortly after the founder, Jack, said that Twitter's board has always been an issue. I think a lot of people are going to lose their jobs. Jobs they probably didn't deserve in the first place. Oh well! lol I am not on Twitter anymore so I don't care.
Yeah, he did indeed buy it. A lot of people are not happy but I feel like it is better to be in the hands of an individual as a private company than to be "controlled" by corporations.
A lot of people are saying they will leave the platform. For my friends and our circle, we are not affected. We don't get into politics or none of that nonsense. It is mostly just a meme and art circle.
