I know not all families do the same thing so I am curious what everyone here does. I think it is one of those holidays that has evolved to be less religious and more about spending time with family which is why people from all walks of life join in now.

My family does all the standard traditions you would assume. The tree, the gift giving, the lights, having dinner but nothing about it is religious. It is more so a means to celebrate the end of the year for my family and bringing in the new year since we don't really celebrate on new year's eve or day.

My family does the typical Christmas dinner. We do a roast and such. We do what I think is refereed to as a "white elephant" gift exchange. We basically just buy a few items anyone could enjoy, wrap them up, add them to a pile, and play games to see who gets to pick what from the pile.

I guess we do it the traditional way. We celebrate Christmas Eve in the evening. Have people gather, play games, eat food. Christmas day, we have an early dinner and exchange gifts in the evening.

I spend time with family and we have several meals together. I have to travel this year. I will be staying with family for 5 days and then driving back.  I have to bring my cats with me, I just hope they do okay during the drive!

I don't exactly celebrate it. I will do the gifts and eat dinner with my family but I do this for them, not myself. If they wanted to do away with the gifts and just have a family dinner, I would prefer it.
