Is there an alternative to Instagram?

I like Instagram but I don't like Facebook or the company's ownership. I want to move away from them entirely but I have yet to find a good alternative. I like to share pictures for my family and friends to see. Is there another platform like Instagram that functions the same way?

Steller and Flickr are the only ones I know of but they are not quite like Instagram.

I think the only way to get something like it is to go with open source options like PixelPhoto.

Yeah I was going to mention Steller.

There really isn't anything like it unless you want to host one yourself which will cost money. I mean if you can set it up, it might be worth it just for you and your friends, family, etc. to be able to share pictures with each other easily.

None that I have found.

I have looked. I am stuck with Instagram for the time being. I don't like the company behind it but I love the app. I love being able to share pics and videos on the fly with friends.

We seem to have so many options for other social sites but none that compare to Instagram. When I heard about the privacy issues with Facebook, I deleted the app off my phone. I stopped using it all together a couple of years back cause it was too much of a pain to use it on a desktop.

If you are only looking to share with family and friends, why not just sign up for a photo hosting site and make the albums private? Some will allow you to set a password and you can give it to friends and family.

^ i was going to suggest the same thing. I did this myself. I bought one of those free site platforms to host media and my friends and family all have accounts on there. Everything is private and only we can see items when we are logged in.
