I'm a Filipino who has been living in Vietnam for the past 6 months. I love it here and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an amazing place to explore, but I will say that I also miss my home country. The Philippines is beautiful and full of culture, but Vietnam is just so much more affordable!

VIETNAM ! I love the Filipino people, who are extraordinarly gentle, but the Government authorities are so corrupted and the common people so poor that it destroys my desire of staying there for long. I was in Manilla for 9 days and saw so much poverty, with entirely families living in the streets - where do they go when it rains ??, that I had to leave

I like to add that, in Vietnam, there are indeed poor people, but everybody has a roof and daily food

I think both are great for different reasons. I have only been to the Philippines once. I would go more but the cost is much higher which is why I think Vietnam is better overall.

I think you're right. They both have their strengths, but in the end I think it's really a matter of personal preference. For example, there are lots of things I like about Vietnam: the food, the culture, and the beaches are all great. But if I'm being honest, the Philippines has some pretty amazing beaches as well.

I think the Philippines has better weather and more interesting island and beach life. It is more colorful and almost somewhat of a fairy tale in appearance in many locations. I think if you want to experience more things by the water, the Philippines are better but for everything else, Vietnam 100%.

I've been to both and absolutely loved them both. The Philippines is a great place for beaches, but Vietnam has the best food. I've also heard that it's much cheaper in the Philippines, but I didn't find that to be true. Vietnam was definitely cheaper!

I have been to Korea, Japan, Vietnam, and China. I have never been to the Philippines. I have wanted to go and do have it on my bucket list. I think I will end up loving Vietnam more though.

I would say Vietnam.

The Philippines is a beautiful country, and I've been there a few times, but I think it's more of a beach destination. It's not as diverse as Vietnam, and if you're looking for some culture, it's not as rich in that area.

Great comparison between Philippines and Vietnam as travel destinations. I've been to both countries and they both offer unique experiences. Philippines has stunning beaches and a rich culture, while Vietnam offers breathtaking landscapes and delicious cuisine. Ultimately, it depends on what kind of vacation someone is looking for. If someone is after a relaxing beach holiday, Philippines may be the better choice. But for those seeking an adventure and cultural immersion, Vietnam is the way to go.
