What do you think about the proposed minimum wage increase of 6% in Vietnam?

The minimum monthly wage will increase between 3.25 - 4.68 million dong per month ($142 - $204) from July.

I agree with the proposed minimum wage increase in Vietnam because food costs are going up. The new wage of will help keep up with inflation and the rising costs of living during this pandemic. It is a fair way to ensure that all workers are able to support themselves and their families.

The issue I have always had with this is that the only time they increase the minimum wage is when interest or inflation happens. This is a good short-term fix but after a few years, the cost of living will continue to go up and cancel it out.

I guess this depends. It can do what was mentioned above, where the cost of living only goes up after the fact which would make it pointless or they can adjust and have it actually be helpful.

I think they need to increase it in many areas around the world. If you can't afford food, bills, medical and rent at the very least you can't call it a minimum wage.

6% is an improvement. I think there are certain jobs that should be paid WAY more than they are getting though, especially in countries in the west.

@haitay in the West, salaries have been stagnant while everything costs more. It's ridiculous and I see more and more people making an exodus for a country with a lower cost of living.
