That means no more attempt of koreans to make a Vpop group using Kpop style and cheapens them. Let's keep Vpop as it is and if they want to have Kpop influence style, then debut a vietnamese in Korea.

Actually Tram Anh is the first vietnamese to debut, but her group Beauty Box and their agency is so small nobody notice them.

I agree 100!

If Korean agencies want to make it in the Vietnamese market, they need to research what's working and what's not. One good example is Erik. When Erik releases slow sad songs in the pop ballad genre, it gets 10M to 200M views. When it's too much pop and no ballad, it flops with 1M to 4M views.

Proof?

Success

Cham Day Noi Dau - 177M views

Em Khong Sai Chung Ta Sai - 127M views

Co Tat Ca Nhung Thieu Anh - 91M views

Dung Xin Loi Nua - 32M views

Flops

Anh Ta La Sao? - 3.3M views

Dung Co Mo - 2.1M views

@thanggalang You're right, I notice this too! Same with Soobin Hoang Son. His ballads gets high views, while upbeat songs very low. But I don't think vietnamese dislike Vpop artists doing something else than ballad. But it must be good and have meaningful lyrics and message. Hoang Thuy Linh songs are very upbeat, but also very culturally influenced.

@uni5fan99 Yes, that’s right. Soobin released that ballad song “Phía Sáu Mốt Ngày” more than 5 years ago and literally the lyrics MV got 238 million views. You don't even need to invest in choreography or filming a MV as long as the song is close to the Vietnamese hearts.

Why do these V-pop songs got so many views without using traditional Vietnamese elements or featuring extremely famous people like Snoop Dogg and without being ballad songs ?

@rockman Yes, there are some exceptions in Vpop like Son Tung M-TP and Min. She started her career more on the pop music side. In the past, she covered Kpop songs and danced to them. She's successful because she has a big following and has been in the industry for many years and most of her songs are meaningful too.

As for Jack, his earlier MVs were really hot when he worked with K-ICM and they were making use of the traditional Vietnamese music instruments. He grew his following really fast from these songs which is why I think he can release poop and still get a lot of views. His debut videos are close or over 400 million views. Being a Boy also has some traditional Vietnamese tunes imo but it's not as successful as his previous songs.

@thanggalang

So is the Vietnamese singer Min the only V-pop artist to a music video without the following characteristics ?

- plagiarism scandal on the music video

- traditional Vietnamese elements

- with a collab

- ballad

Do you know other music videos from other V-pop artists that got a low of views without having the characteristics that I have just mentionned above ?

kpop took off faster and sadly overshadows vpop but what makes me most upset is how they rip vpop off and get away with it!

I see the current vpop is stable, I don't want to have too many colors in the MV, it's very eye strain. The music trend of Vietnamese people is also very different from Korean people, Vietnamese people do not like to see boys wearing makeup.

@thanhthu162 I think in the future when Vietnam is a high-developing country, maybe then it will be a place for idol culture.

@uni5fan99 maybe my opinion and yours are not the same, I think Vietnamese people will not idolize someone too crazy, I mean the majority.

The first Vietnamese singer in the Korean music scene is Hari Won (her father is Vietnamese and her mother is Korean) who was a member of a K-pop girl group called KISS that was created in 2001 and disbanded in 2003.
