So what is actually the national drink? Like the true national drink? It seems like we have all sorts of different answers here. Do they have multiple national drinks depending on the area you visit? Somewhat like the US, each state has their own drink or whatever.

Definitely tea, which the Locals make a huge daily consumption of (not very good). Next is rice alcohol (ruou,  pronounced zio), very strong (35-50°), and then, coffee, one of the best in the world (the most famous brand is Trung Nguyen - Vietnam is the second producer and exporter of coffee in the world after Brazil). Beer is also popular, with local brands in each large city (Hanoi, Truch Bach, Pasteur, Saigon, Larue, etc.

I'm not sure exactly why but this website is loading extremely slow for me. Is anyone else having this issue or is it a problem on my end? I'll check back later and see if the problem still exists.

@Larryphalk

I am a Frenchman of 79 years who live in Hanoi since October 2007 and LOVE this country and its people.

As for "blogger", I am a complete computer idiot, I would not know how to open one. But I have 151 pages of VERY detailed travel notes on Vietnam which I send to the people who ask me for them by private message giving me their email address, indispensable because the file is way too big to post here
