Besides many policies being promulgated to prohibit people from spreading untrue information, Vietnam’s government also joins in the entertainment industry to encourage people during the pandemic.
After “Ghen Cô Vy”, the Ministry of Health has cooperated with artists to produce many pieces of music to raise people’s awareness in preventing the effect of COVID 19. “Không Fake News” (Not Fake News) is a collaboration of The Vietnam News Agency and Da LAB to warn people against the widespread fake news about the COVID-19 situation. It was released on March 27th, 2020 on Da LAB’s official YouTube Channel. The song is also published in news websites, TV channels, social networks such as YouTube, Facebook of the Vietnam News Agency, and the national TV channel like VTV and VTC.
The lyrics were written and performed by Da LAB. The rap song with catchy melody talks about what was happening in social media during this period and after that advises people to stay cautious with fake news. The song also mentions the “Ghen Cô Vy” song and its handwashing dance like a pride of what Vietnam has done in this fight against the coronavirus. The MV is built based on the format of a news program and Da LAB takes the role of reporters.
Da LAB shared on Facebook: “What is more dangerous than coronavirus? It is fake news. Fake news is spreading everywhere, makes people don’t know what is right or wrong, then lose faith in people and life. The authorities, doctors, and soldiers have been struggling to fight Covid-19, do not make them more difficult to continue correcting fake news about this pandemic. Da LAB has returned to RapNewsPlus with the topic “Say no to Fake News”, hoping to make a small contribution to the fight against the Covid-19 this time.”
